Hi all,

Having a very temporary issue with an Ubuntu system, I was forced to
realize that they've changed the program running the father of all
processes (init) from the "classic init" to Upstart. This means that
the entire boot process has changed, and that the configuration of what
runs when during the computer bring-up is nothing like it was before.

See http://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/

This is important stuff for all those clinging to Ubuntu distros, in
particular those who still have any ambition to fix possible problems
on their computers (as opposed to rebooting, reinstalling, upgrading
etc.).

So, is there anyone who is familiar with this component and the way
it's put to work? It could be a great lecture.

And no, I'm not volunteering on this one, for a simple reason:
Belonging to the Red Hat tribe, I'm not interested enough in the
subject.

Any Ubunteer to pick up the glove?

Shana Tova,
