Hello all,

I've finally started working with Thunderbird under Linux (FC12,
with Thunderbird 3.0.7). The old settings were migrated perfectly, and
all is working fine. Well, there's a thing I miss.

In Windows, there used to be an icon when new mail has arrived. This
icon doesn't show up on Linux. The new message overlay notification
appears like it did in Windows, and there's sound as well. Only the
icon is missing.

I've looked around for add-ons, but with no success. I tried
FireTray, which merely shows the number of unread messages (27342 or so
in my case) but does nothing special when a new message arrives.

After trying a few others (the list too long to remember), I even
went as far as hacking "New Mail Icon" (by Ilya Konstantinov) forcing
it too load into a Thunderbird version it doesn't support. With no
result whatsoever.

So I wonder: Does anyone here know the magic solution? Just a plain
icon somewhere I can see it, telling me I should open the Thunderbird
window?

Thanks in advance,

Eli
