The "deadline" elevator - "I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!"

• This scheduler attempts to delay I/O requests until "their friends" arrive...
• ...but with a deadline - don't let any single I/O wait too much.
• As such, it should (theoretically) be better for latency-sensitive applications then CFQ.
